Compensation: $28.67/hour plus vacation pay; 2.5% in lieu of benefits & Health Care Spending Account upon completion of probation
Location: London, ON
Schedule: 16-31 scheduled hours per week; varied shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays

Summary of Roles & Responsibilities:
Working with adults with developmental disabilities, concurrent disorders and/or dual diagnoses in an assisted-living environment providing 24/7 support to develop daily living skills that support community integration/engagement
Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships and attend to the diverse needs of participants
Provide a safe and supportive environment for participants requiring varying levels of behaviourial interventions; remain calm and focused in crisis situations while utilizing effective de-escalation and decision-making skills
Collaborate with team to implement care plans that support involvement in person-centred programs that promote educational, behavioural, developmental, psychological, and emotional growth
Work successfully with diverse groups and demonstrate commitment to principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice
Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education in Community, and/or Social Services (e.g., DSW, SSW, CYC, Social Sciences, BSW, Police Foundations).
Minimum two (2) years of related experience providing behaviour intervention support; knowledge of concurrent disorders and/or dual diagnoses
Demonstrated understanding of requirements specific to the roles and responsibilities of the job.
Strong rapport-building, mentorship, advocacy, organization, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, in addition to attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team (internal and external), and independently as necessary.
Capacity to establish, implement, and maintain professional, and personal boundaries.
Multilingualism and having diverse lived experiences are considered assets.
Requirements:
Valid Class G (full) Driver’s License with a 3-year Uncertified Driver Record
Satisfactory current (within the last 6 months) Police Broad Record Check
Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunizations, negative TB Skin test (within the last 6 months), COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical and psychological requirements of the position
Current Standard First Aid & CPR, Level C with AED training preferred
