Compensation:  $28.67/ hour plus vacation pay; 2.5% in lieu of benefits

Location: London, ON

Site: Rockland

Schedule: 16-32 hrs/week; varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Summary of Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Working with children and youth in an out-of-home emergency/urgency stabilization setting 

  • Collaborate with teams to implement care plans that support participant's involvement in person centered programs that promote educational, behavioural, developmental, psychological, and emotional growth

  •  Creating and proving a safe, secure, and supportive environment for participants by developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships that attend to the diverse needs of youth

  • Navigating conflict, overcoming obstacles, and being creative in providing support to participants while remaining calm and focused in crisis situations by utilizing effective de-escalation and decision-making skills

  • Work successfully with diverse groups and demonstrate commitment to principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma in Child & Youth Worker(CYC)  or Social Service Worker (SSW) or an equivalent Human Services program. 

    • Please Note: Personal Support Worker (PSW) and Developmental Services Worker (DSW) certifications do not meet the educational requirements for this position.

  • Minimum two (2) years of related experience providing behaviour intervention support; knowledge of concurrent disorders and/or dual diagnoses and strategies for support 

  • Reliable with a demonstrated commitment to being a dependable member of a team

  • Understanding of support requirements specific to the roles and responsibilities of the job

  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication

  • Strong leadership, mentorship, advocacy, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills, in addition to attention to detail

  • Ability to work collaboratively with the team, and independently as necessary

  • Capacity to establish, implement, and maintain professional and personal boundaries

  • Multilingualism and having diverse lived experiences are considered assets

Requirements: 

  • Valid Class G (full) Driver’s License with a 3-year Uncertified Driver Record 

  • Satisfactory current (within the last 6 months) Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunisations, negative TB Skin test (within the last 6 months), COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical and psychological requirements of the position 

  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR, Level C with AED training preferred
