Program Supervisor Temporary Full-Time (15 months)

Compensation: $32.56- $36.21/hour plus paid vacation time off, and comprehensive benefits package

Location: London and Strathroy, ON.(Ability to work at both locations)

Duration: 15 Months

Schedule: 40 hours per week with a variety of shifts based on service needs; participation in the on-call rotation is required

Summary of Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight to all aspects of day-to-day operations within designated programs and locations providing 24/7 live-in support for children and youth

  • Engage in system and community tables to promote positive change for people and families

  • Foster creative and exceptional teams to ensure excellent experiences for all children, youth, and families connected to the organization

  • Lead, coach and provide direction to specialized direct-care staff in accordance with policies, procedures and needs of each location with the intention to affect continuous employee development, improvement on standards of practice, and system change

  • Support the team culture and dynamics by establishing performance measures and holding others accountable when necessary through one-on-one support meetings, regular interactions through a variety of shifts, and regular presence in the program

  • Plan and organize staffing needs and shift coverage using system resources, approved scheduling principles, and authorizing overtime when necessary, all in accordance with applicable policies and collective agreements

  • Identify recruitment needs and participate in the start-to-finish onboarding process

  • Work collaboratively with the Director and Manager to assess program effectiveness for long-term impact on the quality of life for people with specialized needs

  • Manage the sustainability of the location(s) within the confines of the budget, approving costs and expenditures in accordance with policy and procedures

  • Provide regular updates to Manager and Director and feedback on the daily operations under supervision

  • Work successfully with diverse groups and demonstrate commitment to principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice


Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education as a Child and Youth Worker (CYW, CWC), Community, and/or Social Services (SSW), Bachelors degree or other relevant education

  • Minimum three (3) years working in the Child and Youth Mental Health Sector with experience in a supervisory position in a unionized environment preferred

  • Experience with Ministry licensing, training and understanding of trauma-informed practices, attachment theory and positive behavioural strategies

  • Reliable with a demonstrated commitment to being a dependable member of a team

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated strengths in leadership, mentorship, advocacy, and problem-solving

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, and independently as necessary

  • Capacity to establish, implement, and maintain professional, and personal boundaries

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities, along with diverse lived experiences, are considered assets


    Requirements:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Valid Class G (full) Driver’s License with a clear 3-year Uncertified Driver Record

  • Satisfactory Police Broad Records Check with Humana listed as the employer

  • Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunizations, COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical requirements of the position

  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR (mandatory), Level C with AED training preferred
